Pain is…

…spending hours of your life in double-pointed needle hell to create beautiful cashmere Rowan Finest gloves, only to get to the end of them and realise that you have made TWO LEFT HANDS.

So, you count to ten for three days then bite the bullet and undo the one, and start it again.  You make a right hand. Everything is perfect. Then you wear them out and lose them within the first week.

Sugar Knits for the Spring

I had a shopping spree yesterday and have stocked up on some light bright yarns ready to knock up some colourful cowls and wonderful wrist-warmers to see you through the Spring. I will be posting photographs of the finished goods once I have enough of a range. Contact me for specific commissions.

Rowan Geneva Camisole

This took about 30 attempts to get right but I’m really happy with the outcome. The colour is lovely but I needed to block it properly before sewing together I think. I may have to live with an eternally rolling up edge I think.

Oh well, you live you and learn. I always let my lack of patience get the better of me.

Rowan Hobo

I adore this top. Until I put it on. Something about it doesn’t work with my body shape. I think it’s just that little bit too short so it makes me look like my waist is higher than it is, which I know sounds like it could be a good thing, but what actually happens is that it makes my hips look like they start higher up too, and that they are a few inches wider than they really are. None of this pleases me.

I do, however, like to look at this top from time to time and contemplate having the time to make another one that fits. It was my first ever non-scarf knitting project so I should be proud I suppose. I even got quite carried away with myself and embroidered a little ‘L’ for my name it.
